HRH Prince Philip 1921 - 2021 HRH Prince Philip 1921 - 2021

It is with great sadness that Farnsfield Parish Council learnt of the death of HRH The Duke of Edinburgh earlier today.

Message from our Chairman, Cllr. Derek Purcicoe:

Farnsfield Parish Council are deeply saddened to hear of the death of HRH Prince Philip Duke of Edinburgh and would like to extend our deepest condolences to HRH Queen Elizabeth II and the Royal Family.

He was married to the Queen for 73 years. During his life he served as an officer in the Royal Navy in the second World War and he served as the longest Consort in history by the side of HRH The Queen since she ascended the throne in 1952, accompanying her in her duties around the UK and across the globe, representing the UK until his retirement in 2017 at the age of 96.

Due to Covid-19 a book of condolence will not be available, it is thought that an online book will be available via Newark & Sherwood District Council.. We will post the link when this becomes available  .
